I like to think of prayer as a spiritual “workout”: focused worship on God, that strengthens your relationship with Him.
God is like our coach, always the one to initiate the call first.
He’s always beckoning for us to be in communion with Him, even if we don’t always hear it.
The end goal is to respond to His call—to pray without ceasing.
Saint Paul articulates the ideal state well in Thessalonians 5:17-18: “Make your life a prayer. And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God's perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.”

I wonder why people don’t apply this same logic to their spiritual life. But maybe prayer is not strictly speaking a ‘skill’ that can be developed.
